QUEST MASTER w/ RHYTHM OF CRUELTY & RITUALIZER

QUEST MASTER is fantasy synthesizer music from Sydney, Australia - burst onto the underground 'dungeon synth' scene with "Lost Songs of Distant Realms" [2017, Out of Season] - a two volume nostalgic soundtrack to a lost 90s JRPG crafted with classic digital tones from Yamaha and Casio keyboards. These debut releases were followed up by the sister albums "The Twelve Castles" and "The Twelve Temples" [Out of Season, 2020/2021], again using classic 90s keyboard tones and an added focus on FM Synthesis, these albums draw heavily from the soundtracks of early N64 and PSX games. The next chapter of QUEST MASTER's evolution, titled "Sword & Circuitry" [2023, Out of Season / Urge Records], marked a significant departure from Lord Gordith's seminal back catalogue of RPG and classic video game inspired dungeon synth. Let's Talk Neuroscience: New Treatments for Dementia -- Are We There Yet?

Curious about a neuroscience topic you hear about every day? Join physicians from the University of Alberta's Department of Neuroscience for practical, easy to understand conversations about common health concerns, prevention, and what to watch for. Sessions are designed to support health literacy by sharing reliable, evidence-informed information for the public. Please note that these presentations are intended for general education only. Presenters are unable to provide medical advice or discuss individual health concerns. * November's topic topic: New Treatments for Dementia: Are We There Yet? Have you heard the news? Two new Alzheimer disease treatments have recently been approved for use in Canada. These drugs target beta amyloid, one of the proteins that builds up in the brain of patients with Alzheimer's disease. These drugs are very effective at getting rid of the protein, but they are far from a cure. Come learn how these drugs may represent the start of a new approach to treating Alzheimer's disease, but why we still have a long way to go. Presenter biography: Dr. Valerie Sim describes herself as a scientist who practices medicine to support her music habit. By day, she is a neuroscientist and clinical neurologist at the University of Alberta, where she runs a research lab devoted to understanding how misfolded proteins can cause dementia. She loves talking about the science of protein misfolding (see her TEDx talk for more…). She also cares for patients with a variety of neurological disorders, including dementia, and teaches medical students and residents how to diagnose and help people with neurological problems. By night, she is a violinist, violist, pianist and composer, performing with many local ensembles and internationally with the World Doctor’s Orchestra.
