Mon, Dec 14 · 7:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.
Whitemud Crossing · 4211 - 106 Street, Edmonton
Our winters are long and can be mean. We huddle indoors and turn up the thermostat, unless we are outside skiing to stay warm before huddling indoors and turning up the thermostat! How do birds survive the winter without central heating? We will explore the options that birds use to survive and some to even prosper despite the cold temperatures. Prepare for the Christmas Bird Count with this review of the expected species and their tricks and treats. Presenter: Geoff Holroyd The Nature Uncovered Speaker Series brings together experts and enthusiasts to share their research and travel stories about mammals, birds, flowers, and the ecosystems that sustain them. This program is offered in collaboration with the Edmonton Nature Club. Refreshments and socializing will occur from 6:30-7:00pm, with the presentation beginning at 7:00 pm.
