Reel Movie Mondays is our independent film series that screens as part of TIFF Film Circuit, screening on select Monday evenings (6:30 pm) at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre Main Stage. 🎞️ H is for Hawk – November 9 | 6:30pm Philippa Lowthorpe United Kingdom, Singapore, United States| 2025 | 119m | English | Clique Films | PG Based on the critically acclaimed memoir, H Is for Hawk is a meditative and emotionally resonant film that traces one woman’s passage through grief and renewal. Following the sudden death of her father, respected academic Helen (Claire Foy, The Lady in the Van ) withdraws from the familiar rhythms of life and turns instead to the ancient, exacting art of falconry. As she attempts to train a fierce and untamed goshawk, the film unfolds as a quiet dialogue between human vulnerability and the natural world’s indifference and beauty. Patient, immersive, and richly observed, H Is for Hawk reflects on loss, solitude, and the discipline required to live alongside pain without being consumed by it. The result is a contemplative cinematic experience that invites audiences into a space of reflection, stillness, and hard-won grace. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the hawk costars are all actual hawks with no CGI used. 🎥 More information here | Trailer Register to book your spot here! ➡️ Cost: $15/non-member | $10/member | $5/student
