Wed, Dec 9 · 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

Curious about a health topic you hear about every day? Join physicians from the University of Alberta's Department of Medicine for practical, easy to understand conversations about common health concerns, prevention, and what to watch for. Sessions are designed to support health literacy by sharing reliable, evidence-informed information for the public. Please note that these presentations are intended for general education only. Presenters are unable to provide medical advice or discuss individual health concerns. * Many people experience joint pain, stiffness, or swelling, especially during the colder months. But how do you know what's normal, what might be arthritis, and when it's time to seek medical attention? Join physicians from the Division of Rheumatology for an approachable discussion about joint pain and inflammation. Learn about common causes of arthritis, including osteoarthritis and inflammatory forms of arthritis, what symptoms to watch for, and what current medical understanding tells us about treatment options. The session will also explore common questions about supplements, alternative therapies, and other popular treatments, helping you separate myths from facts and make informed decisions about your joint health. * Presenter biography: Dr. Keeling is a rheumatologist and professor at the University of Alberta who specializes in caring for people with complex autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
