Job posting rules

Last updated October 19, 2026

Employers can post jobs on Alberta.io for free. Every posting must follow these rules. They are part of our Terms of Service.

The rules

  • The job must be in Alberta or remote for Alberta residents.
  • No fees charged to applicants (including for LMIA, training or equipment).
  • No commission-only, MLM or “be your own boss” listings.
  • No requests for SIN, banking or ID before an offer.
  • Nothing that breaches the Alberta Human Rights Act.
  • One posting per job.

Who can post

You need an Alberta.io account with a confirmed company email address. Your email domain links the posting to your employer. We don’t accept postings from free email addresses such as Gmail or Outlook. Contact us if your business doesn’t have its own email domain.

Review

  • A person reviews every posting before it goes live. Automated checks help us spot problems, but they never publish or reject a posting on their own.
  • We may approve a posting, ask you for changes, or decline it, and we’ll email you either way.
  • Edits to a live posting are reviewed too. The current version stays up until the edit is approved.
  • We may remove any posting at any time, including one that was approved, if it breaks these rules or the terms.

Closing dates

A posting can stay open for up to 60 days. You can extend or close it early from your job postings. We’ll email you three days before it closes.
