How To Festival: How to learn about Indigenous culture through art
Sat, Oct 24 · 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
Jasper Place · 156 Street, Edmonton
Participants will be led in the creation of beautiful art using fish scales, a contemporary art form that reflects traditional Indigenous values of not wasting any part of an animal. Throughout the artistic process, artist Anna Cousins will share Indigenous knowledge and culture and provide space for respectful dialogue. Anna Cousins is a mixed blood Dene artist. She loves working with the public, and is especially invested in engaging with people of all ages and communicating First Nations history. This is a registered class with a maximum of 25 participants and is intended for adults. EPL's annual How To Festival is a chance to learn something new from someone who already knows how to do it. A variety of experts from professionals to enthusiasts will share their skills with you.
