2-part micro art + history class Day 1: September 2, 2026 Day 2: September 9, 2026 Start time: 06:00 p.m. MDT End time: 08:00 p.m. MDT This month’s Making Art History presents Collage as an Art Medium Collage is generally thought to have emerged as a prominent art form in the mid 20 th century. However, for this month’s class, we’ll do a little digging to trace some of the earlier artistic techniques, such as those of 10 th century Japan, which laid the groundwork for collage. We’ll also take a look at how artists in the Dada movement, such as Hannah Hoch, used collage as social commentary during WW2. Finally, the lecture portion of this class will engage with contemporary collage artists’ work and see how the medium has evolved in the digital era. Registration covers both classes.
