How To Festival: How to keep houseplants alive - and thriving
Sat, Oct 24 · 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
Do you want to turn that black thumb into a green thumb? Join Melissa Woodard of Greenland Garden Centre to learn how to set yourself up for success with houseplants. Learn tips and tricks for growing tropical indoors, choosing the right plants, and how to avoid some common mistakes beginners make. Melissa Woodard's passion for plants began when she worked as a vegetable farmer in the summer during her undergraduate degree from MacEwan. After 6 years of farming, she was hired at Greenland Garden Centre, and her passions and interests in plants were nurtured and continued to grow. Now as the person who orders tropicals and houseplants, she is always excited to find new and intriguing things, and is ready to talk your ear off about anything plant related! She has enjoyed teaching classes over the last few years covering many topics to different demographics of people, and when she's not working at Greenland or a Farmer's Market, she's at home with her partner, their cat Ember, and over 100 houseplants. EPL's annual How To Festival is a chance to learn something new from someone who already knows how to do it. A variety of experts from professionals to enthusiasts will share their skills with you. This is an online program. To receive a link and passcode to the online class, please register with your name and email address and instructions will be sent to you within 24 hours of the session. Zoom, a third-party app, will be used for this virtual session. By joining, you acknowledge that EPL does not take responsibility for Zoom's privacy policies and practice.
