The ten questions

Word for word, in the order you’ll be handed them. Mark a practice ballot if you like. Question 10 asks you to choose one of two options; questions 1 to 9 are yes or no. Elections Alberta cannot interpret the questions. Questions about what they mean go to the Government of Alberta or your MLA.

Alberta’s place in Canada

Immigration, social programs and voting

What’s different since you last voted

Election Act changes in force since July 4, 2025.

  • In person, you must vote in the electoral division where you ordinarily live: on October 19 at your assigned location, or during advance voting at any advance location in your division. “Vote anywhere” is no longer available.

  • Vouching is no longer accepted as identification. More than 50 forms of ID are accepted, including attestation forms.

  • Mail-in (special) ballots no longer need a reason, must be returned by mail, and must be received before 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before voting day.
