Through the intergenerational practices of printmaking and watercolour, both artists honour their family histories while creating contemporary works that celebrate Inuit and Métis-Cree family traditions. Their artwork shares stories, memories, and lived experiences, preserving them for future generations. For both artists, making art is a family tradition in itself, learned from parents and grandparents, shaped by the changing seasons, and influenced by their journeys between North and South, as well as rural and urban communities. These traditions continue to be reimagined through their lives and artistic practices today. The public is invited to attend the exhibition reception on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gallery@501. The exhibition and opening reception are presented in collaboration with Alberta Culture Days. The reception will include an artist talk and stencil printmaking demonstration by Roberta Memogana. The exhibit and reception are free to attend, and everyone is welcome!
